Acupuncture & Stress

I think everyone could use a little relief right now.  Lots of anxiety heading into the new year in regards to finances and a general feeling of uneasiness in our country.  Anyone who has expereinced acupuncture knows it is a very relaxing experience. Most of this effect is due to the release of endorphins in the body, these are the chemicals that effect mood and pain. Research suggests acupuncture can be useful for even more stressful conditions like post traumatic stress disorder. Here is a link from the National Institute of Health:

Stress adversely effects all aspects of an individual’s health. Physicians have called it the “silent killer” for years now as it is linked to significant amount of disease conditions in the body. Stress is not only unpleasant mentally, but it can have real effects on your physical health.
